The Tribute Phenomenon and the Manchester Cult Movement
Live music has seen a phenomenon evolve over the last two decades in the form of tribute bands bringing unrivalled access to the drama, excitement and nostalgia of critically acclaimed English bands from the 80s and 90s, bands that have disbanded leaving loyal fans adrift without their musical heroes.
The Manchester music scene, one of the most famous and influential in the world, has now been revived through the cult live music movement of Manchester in the Area. It brings together some of the UK's top tribute acts, recreating the magic of iconic and legendary Manchester greats such as The Stone Roses, Oasis, The Smiths, New Order and The Happy Mondays.
Manchester in the Area offers the emotional highs of yesteryear with the unparalleled
music of this pivotal genre.
In just a short time, due to the tremendous interest, the movement has organised
successful events; filling venues whilst enabling enthusiastic music lovers to relive
their happiest memories.
New and Exciting Collaborations
Having recognised the positive impact that Manchester in the Area has had on the
live music industry and its fans, a collaboration has now been formed with
AcePromotions & Subculture with the view of taking this exciting movement
to the next level with events called LOADED.
Touring around some of the biggest music venues in the UK, like the O2 in Islington
and The Concord 2 in Brighton, LOADED is the culmination of the best work done by
Manchester in the Area over the last 2 years, enhanced with support of new
partners Ace Promotions & Subculture.
Upcoming LOADED Events are taking place in London, Wolverhampton, Leamington Spa, Portsmouth, Swansea, Brighton, Leicester, Rugby, Bridgend and Manchester with many more towns and cities being added across the Uk.
In 2023, Manchester in the Area had the pleasure of working alongside some top names in the industry such as The Lightning Seeds, Space, Dodgy and Clint Boon.
2024 stands to bring with it even more exciting developments with appearances from
some of the cast of the Channel 4 drama, This is England, and Manchester legends
such as Bez and Rowetta from The Happy Mondays and The Inspiral Carpets to name a few.
